I asked a ‘Dragon’ from Dragon’s Den what his definition of True Wealth was. This was his response.

Capital Asset Management, True Wealth

Richard Farleigh is an ex-hedge fund manager, chess champion and wildly successful businessman. He appeared as a “Dragon” in the popular TV show Dragon’s Den (the UK version of Shark Tank) and has been listed as one of the wealthiest individuals in the UK.

At the opening of his private members’ club for entrepreneurs, HomeGrown, I had a chance to ask him this question;

What is your definition of True Wealth?

He thought about it carefully and replied, “It’s all about the ‘”5 Fs” and went on to explain.

Having control over your time, how you spend it, where you spend it and with whom is the ultimate form of wealth.

Life can be busy juggling the demands of growing a business, but always maintain the rule of Family First. What’s the point of working hard and taking risks if you’re unable to share the experience with your family?

Having a close circle of people that you like, trust, and enjoy spending time with is a blessing.

Stay connected and continue to cultivate great friendships.

Things can get overwhelming and it’s easy to overlook your health and fitness. But, remember ‘If you don’t make time for health, you’ll probably have to make time for illness.”

Don’t be the richest person in the graveyard.

Life as an entrepreneur is serious and there’s a lot at stake. So, it’s important to relax, enjoy the journey and not take yourself too seriously all the time.

“Some people are so poor, all they have is money”
